Family Crest created for our American Family

Welcome to our web site!

This website is for anyone whose
ancestor was a Turrentine or who
married a Turrentine.   Turrentine
has been spelt many ways.  We
know that currently at least four
spellings are derived from the
Turrentines of Orange County,
North Carolina:  Turrrentine, Torrentine,
Turntine, and Terrentine.  As we discover
more, we will add them as well.

The Turrentine Family is an inclusive
family.   We have intermarried with
many races, faiths and ethnic groups.
The crest above includes a book
because we seem to share a common
interest  in learning.  Schools and buildings
on college and university campuses have
been named for Turrentines.
The Turrentine name also appears in connection with
churches, either in the name of the church, as a founder,
minister, elder, trustee, or lay teacher.

In 2021 we release a 5th edition of the Turrentine Family. It was too large to print, so it is only available on USB drive. Cost is $10 plus postage, which for most places is about $4.80-until postage goes up again. All of the older print editions are sold out. Occasionally one will appear on ebay. At irregular intervals, we publish a newsletter. You can sign up to receive this by email or by regular "snail" mail. I attempt to post a PDF version here on this website.

We try to have a Family Reunion every other year.  See Events for more details, and as time nears, Reunion web page for registration form and information.

The Turrentine Family 3rd edition edited by Edgar M. Turrentine, October 1972, aka The Orange Book has been scanned and digitized. It is now available on the internet at Family Search.org Click link.
